Day 01: Hanoi - Duong Lam Cycling - Mai Chau (L, D)
Morning, drive to the North of Ha Tay province to ancient Duong Lam village. You begin to cycle from Va temple to Mong Phu village, discover old houses made of literati and rammed soil, most of the village architectures still remain intact. This is a great opportunity to witness the calm and tranquility of everyday country life and interact with local people. Continue cycling to Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen temples – home of the national hero Kings where you will have picnic lunch. Leave Duong Lam for Mai Chau. Stop en route for visiting Muong village. Upon arrival and check-in to house-on-stilt of Thai people.
Overnight in Mai Chau
Day 02: Mai Chau - Kenh Ga - Ninh Binh (B, L, D)
After breakfast, walking around the villages and rice field then drive to Ninh Binh. En route visit minority villages and bamboo water-pump. Stopping at Hoa Lu to visit temples dedicated to two ancient Vietnamese Kings in 10th and 11th century. Afternoon, drive to Kenh Ga, a secluded floating village in Ninh Binh with a dramatic landscape of limestone cliffs and caves. Travel serenely through the village by motorboat and rowboat to witness scenes of fishmen, children going to school and daily life along the riversides.
Overnight in Ninh Binh
Day 03: Ninh Binh - Van Long Cycling - Ha Long (B, L, D)
Morning, depart to Van Long, Ninh Binh. On arrival, taking an hour boat cruise on Van Long reservoir. Disembark and continue biking 12 km on a dyke road with excellent panoramic view of the village on one side and the soaring limestone mountains on the other. In the afternoon drive to Hai Phong, stopping en route at Pho Minh Pagoda before proceeding to Ha Long City.
Overnight in Ha Long
Day 04: Ha Long - Hanoi (B, L)
Transfer to Ha Long harbor to board a charming boat for a cruise on the Bay. Spend the 5 hours cruising through the 3,000 limestone pinnacles piercing the emerald water of the Gulf of Tonkin. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most incredible natural wonders and was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will visit Thien Cung Cave before have lunch on board with fresh seafood. Disembark the boat and drive to Hanoi via Dong Trieu ceramic village, Dong Trieu is famous for ceramic pottery which being sold throughout Viet Nam and reaching to oversea markets. Arrive Hanoi and drop off at your hotel.
