Day 01: Hanoi arrival


Welcome to Vietnam. Arrive in Hanoi, pick up by your guide and driver, then transfer to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi (room is available for early check-in). Then, depart for a full-day tour of Vietnam’s capital by private vehicle, including Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and traditional stilt house, and the revered One-Pillar Pagoda. Pay visits to typical Vietnamese places of worship, Tran Quoc Pagoda, along the shore of West Lake. Just before noon, tour Vietnam’s first university, the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature. You will then stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and go through the famous red bridge to reach Ngoc Son temple. In the evening, enjoy a performance of the traditional Water Puppet show

Day 02: Hanoi – craft village – Lao Cai (B, L)


In the morning, you will leave Hanoi to visit Dong Ho folk painting where you will be surprised by the folk paintings made by the local skilful artisans with natural materials and colors. Continue to visit the Dai Bai traditional village. Visiting Dai Bai village, you can witness sophistication of bronze casting fine arts and the cleverness of the craftsmen. They have invested in improving technologies with many home-made machines such as laminating machine, polishing machine…and broadening market towards export

Then, transfer to Bat Trang village where you will have lunch at local house. Bat Trang is famous for its ceramic pottery, which is sold throughout Viet Nam and increasingly to overseas markets. Spend one or two hours wandering about the village watching professionals. On the way back to Hanoi, you have a chance to see the property of the villages located along the two banks of the Red River Dykes and the lifestyles of dwellers. Day 03: Lao Cai – Ethnic market – Sapa (B, L)


Arrive in Lao Cai railway station around 6:00a.m. Transfer to Cao Son market (Wednesday morning market) or Can Cau market (Saturday morning market) or Muong Khuong market (Sunday morning market) or Lung Khau Nhin market (Thursday morning market) by car, arriving in time to enjoy the very colorful H’mong market in Northern Vietnam. This weekly outdoor gathering isn’t just a chance to buy and sell goods; it’s also the social highlight of the week for ethnic groups from all over the area. After the market, transfer by car to the old French hill station of Sapa

Day 04: Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B, L)


Today, you will hike down into the verdant Sapa valley, with stops to trek in to visit peaceful villages. For many travelers this is another trip highlight. The trekking to the Lao Chai village (Black H’mong people) and the Zay village – Ta Van – where we ascend the mountain and cross a pass in the altitude of 1700 m. From here we have a magnificent view to the minority villages and terraced rice fields beneath us. The walk is about 12 km along the track that the Vietnamese used for fleeing, when the Chinese invaded Sa Pa in 1979. Transfer in the afternoon to Lao Cai Station for overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 05: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)


Arrive at Hanoi station early morning, pick up by your guide & driver, then transfer to small hotel for refreshment & breakfast. Then, you’ll be driven about 3hrs to famous and magnificent Ha Long Bay. Spend the afternoon cruising through the 3,000 limestone pinnacles piercing the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most incredible natural wonders and was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
– 12.00-13.00: Arrive in Tuan Chau Wharf, and transfer by tender to the boat
– 13.00-15.30: Check in and enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise brief and safety instruction by crew member and Cruise Manager Start cruising. Enjoy set menu lunch while cruising to magnificent Halong Bay – Bai Tu Long Bay, admire the fascinating formations on the way. You will have opportunity to see the famous such as: Perfume Rock, Fighting Cock, Lonely Rock, Saddle Rock…. before arrives to “Vung Viêng” village
– 15.30-17.30: Visit “Vung Viêng” village by a rustic – row boat, meet the local people who will help you row the boat for sightseeing. Enjoy quiet space and fresh air, you will feel truly relaxing.

Day 06: Ha Long Bay – Ninh Binh (B, Brunch)


– 06.15-06.45: Enjoy Tai Chi instruction on the Sundeck
– 07.00 : Have breakfast on boat
– 07.45-08.45 : Explorer Visit Surprise cave (about 60 minute by walk)
– 09.00-09.30 : Check out cabin
– 10.30 : Have lunch on boat
– 11.30: Back to Tuan Chau pier. Transfer by tender to Pelican & Image cafe
– 12.00: You will meet your guide & driver, and transfer to Ninh Binh area “called dry Ha Long Bay”. Arrive in Ninh Binh and drop off at hotel. Just in time for you to cycle to Thai Vi temple and see the sun set in a unique natural landscape

Day 07: Ninh Binh – Hue (B, L)


Morning, you will cycle to Trang An Eco-Tourism area. Trang An Eco-Tourism complex is a home of 600 kinds of flora and over 200 kinds of fauna that many of them in the Red book of Vietnam. It is also a gathering of 31 valleys, 48 cross-water caves and we will visit 3 to 6 of them. On the rowing boat, you can enjoy the fresh air, clean and clear water with under water grass. Experience ourselves the feeling and emotion when we are on the water caves….

After lunch at local house. You will then cycle on narrow path to visit Bai Dinh pagoda, this is a largest cultural site of south-east Asia : magnificent, gigantic with its over 100 tone golden Buddha, its 500 smaller ones, its 500 meters long alleys and its 500 tone bell. End of afternoon, transfer to Nam Dinh train station for overnight train SE1 (20:36-07:57 + 1) to Hue, the last imperial capital of Vietnam

Day 08: Hue sightseeing (B)


Arrive at Hue station at 08h50, pick up by your guide and driver and transfer to hotel for breakfast. Then, you will board on a small boat to make a cruise upstream the Perfume River to visit the famous Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit the elaborate tombs of Emperor Tu Duc, founded between 1864-1867 by three thousands soldiers and workers. Afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. The ancient citadel reflects the pomp and ceremony of the dynastic rulers as well as the scars of many years of turmoil, both ancient and modern (the Royal Citadel was badly damaged in the latter stages of the war) but retains a sense of grace and majesty even today and you will finish the day with a visit of Dong Ba market

Day 09: Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An (B)


Drive to Hoi An via scenic Hai Van Pass, where we enjoy the spectacular panorama of the central coastline from the summit. Stop at Lang Co to stretch your legs and enjoy the white sands of this peaceful beach. Upon arrival in Da Nang, visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountain. Continue by road to the ancient town of Hoi An. The rest of day is free for relaxing on Cua Dai beach

Day 10: Hoi An Sightseeing (B)


Hoi An is a quaint riverside town, popular with tourists for its eclectic architecture, tailors shops, and numerous cafes. Some of the buildings in the narrow streets have remained unchanged for more than a century. Enjoy a walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. Then, take a cruise up the Thu Bon River to visit Thanh Ha pottery village

Day 11: Hoi An – Da Nang – Saigon sightseeing (B)


Transfer to Da Nang airport and you will board the flight to Saigon, Vietnamese economic capital. Your guide will welcome you in Saigon’s airport and transfer you to your hotel. Afternoon, you will begin your exploration of Sai Gon including the War Remnant Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral and general Post Office, which was reportedly, designed Gustaf Eiffel. Walk amongst the frenzied merchants and buyers of Cho Lon market and visit Thien Hau Pagoda – one of the most celebrated Temples in Sai Gon

Day 12: Saigon – Tay Ninh temple – Cu Chi Tunnels – Saigon (B)


After breakfast, drive to the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels, just outside Ho Chi Minh. During the war for independence, Viet Cong guerillas built the labyrinth of narrow tunnels virtually underneath U.S. bases, using them to hide during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Then continue to visit Tay Ninh to visit Cao Dai Temple, the holy temple of Caodaism and attend its noon prayer before transfer back to Sai Gon

Day 13: Saigon – Cai Be market – Vinh Long – Can Tho (B, L)


Morning, drive to Cai Be area and take a boat to the floating market to practice the age-old art of bartering. Visitors will be supplied with sweets, sugar, milk, etc. which they can then barter for different kinds of local fruits. Continue by river to see family-run businesses producing a local version of popcorn and rice paper. In Cai Be you will visit craft villages, In Xeo May bonsais garden you will have lunch. Your boat will then take you all the way to Hoa Khanh village. Upon landing, you will go for a bicycle ride through the village. Your driver will then take you to Can Tho where you will spend the night.

Day 14: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Saigon (B)


Wake up early in the morning to visit Cai Rang floating market – the most interesting part of trip, and then continue to visit some small channel and village around the area. Then, transfer back to hotel (the breakfast will be prepared on board while boat cruising to Cai Rang market). Then, drive back to Saigon via Sa Dec area where Mrs. Marguerite Duras has lived and wrote the famous romantic novel “Lover”

Day 15: Saigon Departure (B)


After breakfast, free time at leisure in Saigon for relaxing or shopping until transfer to Saigon airport for your international fight back
