Day 01: Hanoi arrival

Welcome to Vietnam! In Hanoi, after immigration and customs formalities, you’ll be met by your personal Guide and driver, then transfer into the city. Then, enjoy a tour of Vietnam’s capital, including Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and traditional stilt house (Outside), and the revered One-Pillar Pagoda. Pay visits to typical Vietnamese places of worship, Tran Quoc Pagoda, along the shore of West Lake and tour Vietnam’s first university, the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature. In the evening, enjoy a performance of the traditional Water Puppet show

Day 02: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)

Today, you’ll be driven about 3hrs to famous and magnificent Ha Long Bay. Spend the afternoon cruising through the 3,000 limestone pinnacles piercing the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most incredible natural wonders and was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
– 12.00-13.00: Arrive in Tuan Chau Wharf, and transfer by tender to the boat
– 13.00-15.30: Check in and enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise brief and safety instruction by crew member and Cruise Manager Start cruising. Enjoy set menu lunch while cruising to magnificent Halong Bay – Bai Tu Long Bay, admire the fascinating formations on the way. You will have opportunity to see the famous such as: Perfume Rock, Fighting Cock, Lonely Rock, Saddle Rock…. before arrives to “Vung Viêng” village
– 15.30-17.30: Visit “Vung Viêng” village by a rustic – row boat, meet the local people who will help you row the boat for sightseeing. Enjoy quiet space and fresh air, you will feel truly relaxing.

Day 03: Ha Long Bay – Ninh Binh (B, Brunch)

– 06.00-09.00: Taking part in Tai Chi class on the sundeck (duration about 30 minutes)
Coffee, tea and pastries… for breakfast are served in the dining room. Transfer by tender to Sung Sot Cave. Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance. It takes approximately 45 minutes for cave visiting. Return to the boat by tender. Proper shoes are highly recommended
– 09.00-11.30: Check out and make payment in reception area. Have a set menu brunch while cruising back to the Tuan Chau Wharf. Relax on the sundeck or in the dining room enjoying the bay scenery as approaching the wharf
– 11.30: Transfer by tender to Tuan Chau Wharf. Say goodbye to the crew
– 12.00: You will meet your guide & driver, and transfer to Ninh Binh area “called dry Ha Long Bay”. Arrive in Ninh Binh and drop off at hotel. Just in time for you to cycle to Thai Vi temple and see the sun set in a unique natural landscape

Day 04: Ninh Binh sightseeing (B, L)

Cycling today is more than 20km. If you would not cycle, the vehicle is always disposal for transfer
Morning, you will cycle to Trang An Eco-Tourism area. Trang An Eco-Tourism complex is a home of 600 kinds of flora and over 200 kinds of fauna that many of them in the Red book of Vietnam. It is also a gathering of 31 valleys, 48 cross-water caves and we will visit 3 to 6 of them. On the rowing boat, you can enjoy the fresh air, clean and clear water with under water grass. Experience ourselves the feeling and emotion when we are on the water caves…. After lunch at local house. You will then cycle on narrow path to visit Bai Dinh pagoda, this is a largest cultural site of south-east Asia : magnificent, gigantic with its over 100 tone golden Buddha, its 500 smaller ones, its 500 meters long alleys and its 500 tone bell.

Day 05: Ninh Binh (Dong Tam cycling & But Cave Complex) – Hue (B, L)

After breakfast, drive to the national road 12B by vehicle to Bai Dinh pagoda where you will take your bike and start cycling through the rural landscape to Dong Tam village (~8km). You may interact with as well as take part in lunch preparation with the locals. Enjoy your lunch with a family. After lunch, take a sampan ride through But Cave Complex. Explore the dry caves as well as the water caves. End the trip at Thung Nham dock. End of afternoon, drive back to Ninh Binh. Free time at leisure until transfer to Ninh Binh train station for overnight train SE1 (21:49-08:56 + 1) to Hue, the last imperial capital of Vietnam

Day 06: Hue sightseeing (B)

Arrive at Hue station at 08h50, pick up by your guide and driver and transfer to hotel for breakfast. Then, you will board on a small boat to make a cruise upstream the Perfume River to visit the famous Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit the elaborate tombs of Emperor Tu Duc, founded between 1864-1867 by three thousands soldiers and workers. Afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. The ancient citadel reflects the pomp and ceremony of the dynastic rulers as well as the scars of many years of turmoil, both ancient and modern (the Royal Citadel was badly damaged in the latter stages of the war) but retains a sense of grace and majesty even today and you will finish the day with a visit of Dong Ba market

Day 07: Historic Thanh Toan bridge & Phuoc Tich village (B, L)

Stop at Bao La Village on the road to Thanh Toan Bridge. Bao La Village is a 500 year old bamboo weaving village where local people are very proud of their quality handicraft products. Bao La villagers work hard to meet the demands of foreign and domestic market and are proud of their dexterity, creativity and passionate expressions.  They possess a high degree of specialization in production process liked material treatment, bamboo bases, bamboo rims, finishing touches and decorative details.

Built two centuries ago the covered bridge of Thanh Toan is unique in that only two exist in Vietnam (the other being in Hoi An).  Built as a tribute to the villagers by the wife of a high ranking Mandarin, the bridge has survived storms, floods and wars however after it was damaged, the villagers always contributed to repair, renovate and preserve it. Next to the bridge is the local village morning market which can be explored if you desire.

After visiting Thanh Toan it’s an hour’s drive north to the 500-year-old village of Phuoc Tich. Once famous and prosperous because of its pottery, the village has dozens of homes that are from 100 to 200 years old and several old temples, pagodas, worship halls and communal houses still remain. Many imprints of Champa and ancient Viet cultures are still preserved such as lingas (a very complex symbol of Hinduism). The religious culture of the village is seen via families, which have their own ancestor worship halls, each worshiping five direct generations. Day 08: Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An (B)

Drive to Hoi An via scenic Hai Van Pass, where we enjoy the spectacular panorama of the central coastline from the summit. Stop at Lang Co to stretch your legs and enjoy the white sands of this peaceful beach. Upon arrival in Da Nang, visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountain. Continue by road to the ancient town of Hoi An. The rest of day is free for relaxing on Cua Dai beach

Day 09: Hoi An sightseeing (B)

Hoi An is a quaint riverside town, popular with tourists for its eclectic architecture, tailors shops, and numerous cafes. Some of the buildings in the narrow streets have remained unchanged for more than a century. Enjoy a walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. Then, take a cruise up the Thu Bon River to visit Thanh Ha pottery village. The rest of day is free for relaxing on Cua Dai beach

Day 11: Hoi An – Da Nang – Saigon sightseeing (B)

Transfer to Da Nang airport and you will board the flight to Saigon, Vietnamese economic capital. Your guide will welcome you in Saigon’s airport and transfer you to your hotel. Afternoon, you will begin your exploration of Sai Gon including the War Remnant Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral and general Post Office, which was reportedly, designed Gustaf Eiffel. Walk amongst the frenzied merchants and buyers of Cho Lon market and visit Thien Hau Pagoda – one of the most celebrated Temples in Sai Gon

Day 12: Saigon – My Tho, Ben Tre – Can Tho (B)

Morning, you will leave Saigon to Mekong delta; enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields.  On arrived at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda. Then, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden.

Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, performed by locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste the delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantation and village. Afternoon, continue by road to Can Tho for overnight

Day 13: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Saigon (B)

Wake up early in the morning to visit Cai Rang floating market – the most interesting part of trip, and then continue to visit some small channel and village around the area. Then, transfer back to hotel (the breakfast will be prepared on board while boat cruising to Cai Rang market). Afternoon, drive back to Saigon via Sa Dec area where Mrs. Marguerite Duras has lived and wrote the famous romantic novel “Lover”. Arrive in Saigon in the afternoon and drop off at your hotel

Day 14: Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – Saigon departure (B)

After breakfast, drive to the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels, just outside Ho Chi Minh. During the war for independence, Viet Cong guerillas built the labyrinth of narrow tunnels virtually underneath U.S. bases, using them to hide during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Then, transfer back to Saigon. Free time at leisure for relaxing or shopping until transfer to Saigon airport for your international flight

Discover the land of myths and legends when cruising ‘the bay of the descending dragon’ (Halong Bay) on a traditional wooden junk. Explore Ninh Binh “dry Ha Long on land”, where steep limestone formations rise from magnificent green rice paddies and wander through the streets of imperial Hué en charming Hoi An.
